Overview

Once you've started running your SoPost campaign, you might want to obtain information about your consumers to grow your audience, retarget people who engaged with your campaign outside of SoPost or run further analysis with other data sources. To help with this, our data custom export functionality allows you to download data for your campaigns.

Because every brand has different needs, we have made this feature as flexible as possible, so you only export what you need and can tailor your data to your specific use case. You can apply filters, select the fields you want to export, rename them, change the order, etc.

You can download opt-in data including the names and email addresses of the people who have opted-in to further marketing from your brand, and you can download this data as frequently as you like. You can also download additional information from your consumers such as addresses or demographic data when provided.

Before you start

Here are some things you need to know before you get started:

  • Your SoPost Customer Success manager has access to this page but cannot download your marketing opt-in data.

  • Access to download email marketing opt-in data will be archived after 90 days on a per-record basis once the associated order was submitted.

  • To download email marketing opt-in data, you must have been granted the "Download email marketing opt-ins" permission by your Customer Success Manager or an Admin in your Organisation.

  • Your export will be downloaded as a ZIP file that contains the CSV file of names and email addresses. You can unarchive the ZIP file and open the CSV file in your preferred spreadsheet application or upload them to your CRM software.

  • Note that when you land on the page we have applied a set of predefined filters to the page already. These predefined filters will allow you to export data from Consumers who opted-in and whose order was approved. If you would like to apply different filters to your export, please amend the filters on the page before proceeding.

1. Select the Data Export icon on the left side menu

2. Select the campaign

First, select the campaign you want to export data from.

3. Apply filters

You can apply different filters to your export such as

  • Date:

You can choose to export data only for a specific timeframe of your campaign. The default is "all time" which will provide you with data for the full duration of your campaign.

  • Order Status

    • Approved orders: Select this option to export data for consumers whose orders were accepted

    • Rejected orders: Select this option to export data for consumers whose orders were rejected

  • Opt-in preference

    • Consumers who opted-in: Select this option to export data for consumers who opted in to further marketing

    • Consumers who didn't opt-in: Select this option to export data for consumers who did not opt-in to further marketing

    • Double opt-in pending: Select this option if your campaign is running in Germany and you want to get data for consumers who have not yet confirmed their second opt-in.

Please note that the filter applied by default is "Consumers who opted-in". If no filter is applied, the exported data will contain data for all consumers.

4. Select data fields

You can select the fields you would like to include in your export. The default fields that appear in the Selected fields section on the right-hand side match our previous marketing consent data download.

You can remove any of those fields by clicking the red X icon.

5. Change the order of the data fields

You can change the order of the fields in the export by dragging and dropping the field block.

6. Rename the data fields

You can rename the fields by clicking "edit field names". Once renamed, the columns in your exported file will display the new name.

Once your fields have been renamed, save your changes by clicking "save" on the bottom-right side.

7. Export your selection

Click "Download CSV file" to download your data.

8. Check previous data exports

On the top right side of the page, you can click on "View export history".

A new window will pop up with a trail of past exports so you can check who exported data in the past, which fields were included, which filters were applied, etc

Some things to point out:

  • Only first-party data handlers can be downloaded via the custom data export page. If third-party data handlers are present those need to be downloaded by our teams. Please reach out to your SoPost contact

  • If more than one first-party data handler is present, they will display in different columns in the data exported.
