Send product reviews to your Yotpo account for syndication

SoPost's integration with Yotpo allows brands to collect product reviews from consumers who claimed and received a sample, and then automatically send these reviews to the brands Yotpo store for syndication.

Setting up the Yotpo integration

Within the asset/copy form that you submit to your SoPost Customer Success Manager, it will ask for the Product Name, Product URL and Product IDs. These are all details our team would need for setting up the review syndication.

The SoPost Customer Success Manager will then be able to set up the Yotpo Integration within our platform.

Enabling additional settings on your Yotpo account

Before we can use the integration, the Yotpo team need to enable a few settings on your Yotpo account.

Let your SoPost Customer Success Manager know that you have set up the integration. Your SoPost Customer Success Manager will reach out to Yotpo at apps@yotpo.com and cc you in, requesting the following settings be enabled on your account:

  • Trusted Vendor - this allows SoPost to capture reviews from consumers without them having to confirm their email address after submitting a review.

  • Review Disclaimer - this allows SoPost to send a review disclaimer along with the reviews collected. The review disclaimer can then be displayed alongside the review, to show that it was incentivised.

Once the Yotpo team confirm the above settings are enabled, you are ready to test the integration.

Testing the Yotpo integration

Your SoPost Customer Success Manager will set up a test campaign in your account, and set it to send product reviews to your Yotpo account. We'll need to select a product from your Yotpo account to send reviews for. Once confirmed, we will submit a few reviews to your Yotpo account and ask the Yotpo team (or your team) to verify they are visible in your account.

โš ๏ธ Due to processing time on the Yotpo side, it may take several hours for reviews to appear on their platform. If the review does not show up immediately, it's recommended to check back after a few hours.

Once this is done, you can begin using our Yotpo integration on live campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'Trusted Vendor' mean?

SoPost is considered a Trusted Vendor, which means we can send reviews to Yotpo without the need for the consumer to confirm their email address with Yotpo. This helps us increase our review response rate, by cutting an additional step out of the consumer experience.

What is a review disclaimer?

A review disclaimer lets a potential consumer know that a product review was submitted as part of a sampling campaign. SoPost sends the following review disclaimer with every review we submit to Yotpo:

"This review was submitted via a SoPost sampling campaign"

The Yotpo team can then work with the brand to ensure this disclaimer is displayed wherever reviews are displayed.

What data is submitted to Yotpo?

The following data is sent to Yotpo:

Basic info

  • app key

  • product sku

  • product title

  • product description

  • product url

  • display name/nickname

  • email address

  • is_incentivised (true)

  • review content

  • review title

  • review score

Trusted vendor

  • Timestamp

  • Reviewer type (verified reviewer)

  • Signature (made up of email address, reviewer type, timestamp, and secret)

Custom properties

  • Review disclaimer ("This review was submitted via a SoPost sampling campaign")
